Teach the Nation, in collaboration with DBE-E3 and the Tshwane North District of the Gauteng Department of Education, has been actively involved in a project aimed at providing coaching support to Heads of Department (HODs) in Tshwane District schools. The primary objective is to embed leadership and entrepreneurial skills to foster agency and address challenges with local solutions.

Between August and October 2023, a selection process was initiated: 11 HODs were interviewed, resulting in the selection of six outstanding candidates from different schools in Gauteng. These candidates, aged between 24 and 38, brought a wealth of teaching experience ranging from the STEM, business and language subject codes. These different perspectives added to the learning on the project.

The selected fellows attended a Summer School Training event in January 2024.
