MADDness: Creative ways to include more social interaction in your projects or lessons.
Our theme this month is all about planning for socially interactive projects; the S in S.P.E.C.I.A.L.!
Before we start creating some super cool projects, have you seen our online ‘Introduction to Project-Based Learning’ training on TeacherConnectlearn? If not, check it out here! It’ll make a lot more sense if you do!
When learners collaborate, it’s like a super team joining forces to conquer a common goal! Imagine being grouped together with your classmates, all working towards the same learning objectives. That’s when the magic happens! Group work and peer tutoring are awesome ways to collaborate and learn together. But guess what? Collaboration shines the brightest in project-based learning! In projects, learners team up in pairs, threes, or small groups to tackle exciting challenges. Their interaction and teamwork become superpowers for their learning journey!
And here’s a pro tip: when learners create their own classroom rules, it’s like a shield against any differences that might try to slow them down. Even if there are disagreements along the way, they’re just stepping stones on the path of learning and growth! So, get ready to unleash the power of collaboration in your classroom! Together, you’ll achieve greatness and create memories that’ll last a lifetime!
Let’s explore some MADD ways for learners to socially interact with each other and present their projects!
M – Music: Who doesn’t love a good tune? Let your learners write their project into a catchy song, rap, or even spoken word to showcase their ideas.
A – Art: Let those creative juices flow! Encourage your learners to create a series of posters, paintings, or even a mural to bring their project to life.
D – Dance: Get them moving and grooving! Challenge your learners to choreograph a dance routine that embodies their project or even create a skit with some dance elements.
D – Drama: Lights, camera, action! Give your learners the opportunity to flex their acting skills with a monologue, a skit, or even a full-blown play. Who knows, you might even have some future movie stars in your classroom.
So, with a little bit of creativity and some fun twists, you can create a project-based learning experience that learners will never forget. Get ready to have a blast and watch your learners become socially interactive change-makers!
